CPE has acquired Mammut Sports Group AG, the Swiss outdoor equipment manufacturer, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction transfers full ownership of the 162-year-old company from its previous parent, Conzzeta AG, to the Hong Kong-based private investment firm.

Mammut, headquartered in Seon, Switzerland, has built its reputation on high-quality climbing, hiking, and mountaineering gear since its founding in 1862. The company supplies ropes, apparel, footwear, and safety equipment to mountain sports enthusiasts worldwide, with a brand identity closely tied to alpine heritage and technical innovation. CPE, an investment firm with a focus on consumer and industrial businesses, will take over operational oversight of the Swiss firm.

The acquisition is part of CPE’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio in the premium outdoor sector. For Mammut, the change in ownership provides access to additional capital and international market expertise, which could support growth in regions where the brand has limited penetration. CPE has indicated it will retain Mammut’s existing management team and its Swiss base, aiming to preserve the company’s product development culture while strengthening its commercial operations.

The deal follows Conzzeta’s earlier decision to divest its outdoor division and concentrate on its core sheet-metal processing business. For Mammut, the sale ends a period of uncertainty about its corporate future, allowing the brand to focus on long-term product strategy rather than parent-company restructuring.

With CPE’s backing, Mammut is expected to pursue deeper expansion in Asia and North America, where demand for technical outdoor equipment continues to grow. The combined entity will likely invest in digital sales channels and sustainability initiatives, areas where the Swiss company has already begun to build momentum. The immediate priority, however, remains a smooth transition that keeps Mammut’s product pipeline and distribution network intact.
