Tito’s Handmade Vodka has acquired LALO Tequila for an undisclosed amount, signaling a strategic expansion into the premium spirits market. LALO Tequila, known for its purely crafted blanco tequila made with just three ingredients and no aging process, will now join the portfolio of the established vodka producer.
Founded by childhood friends Eduardo “Lalo” González and David “R” Carballido in Guadalajara, Jalisco, LALO Tequila draws deeply from Mexican heritage. Lalo’s family boasts a multi-generational legacy in tequila making, while David has extensive experience with top producers. Their tequila blanco, born from a family wedding toast, is crafted from deep well water, champagne yeast, and fully-mature Highland agave. The company prides itself on offering a fresh, clean expression of blanco tequila, honoring ancestral methods without masking natural flavors through aging.
This acquisition represents a significant move for Tito’s Handmade Vodka to diversify its offerings beyond vodka and enter the rapidly evolving tequila category. The synergy is evident in both companies' commitment to craft and quality; Tito's 'Handmade' ethos aligns with LALO's 'purely crafted' approach and dedication to traditional methods. LALO's focus on a single, high-quality blanco product complements Tito’s established distribution network, providing LALO with broader market access while enriching Tito’s premium spirits portfolio. This move allows Tito's to cater to consumers seeking authentic, carefully produced spirits.
The combination of Tito’s market presence and LALO’s authentic product offers potential for strong growth. The acquisition aims to enhance the reach of LALO Tequila’s unique blanco expression and reinforce Tito’s position in the competitive and evolving spirits industry, positioning the combined entity for continued success in the premium beverage segment.
