Renewable Energy Power Generation

Waaree Energies has acquired Kotsons Pvt. Ltd. (KPL) for an undisclosed amount. Kotsons, established in 1979, is a long-standing Indian manufacturer specializing in Distribution and Power Transformers up to 30 MVA with a 33 KV class voltage. The company has a significant history of serving public utilities and private industrial sectors, both within India and across more than 50 countries, with over 800,000 installations globally. Kotsons is known for its comprehensive range of transformer solutions, including oil-filled, dry-type, and specialized units for various applications.

This acquisition is strategically aimed at strengthening Waaree Energies' capabilities within the rapidly evolving energy sector. Kotsons has notably developed super low-low amorphous/CRGO transformers specifically designed for solar and wind power applications, efficiently sustaining load variations and minimizing energy losses. Their portfolio also includes specialized solar transformers, advanced energy storage systems, and compact EV substations with multiple charging kiosks, which align with the growing demands of renewable energy integration and electric vehicle infrastructure.

The integration of Kotsons’ advanced manufacturing and research and development capabilities, particularly its innovative core and winding technologies such as 3D Triangular Core and Amorphous Metal Core, will enhance Waaree Energies' technological depth. Kotsons’ commitment to quality, backed by ISO certifications and a TQM program, further complements the acquiring company's operational standards. This move is anticipated to create synergies by combining expertise in power transformer manufacturing with a focus on sustainable energy solutions.

Looking ahead, the combined entity is positioned to deliver a more extensive range of products and services, particularly in the green energy and e-mobility segments. This expanded capacity will allow it to better meet the increasing demand for efficient and reliable power distribution solutions globally, supporting the transition towards a sustainable energy future.
