Castillo Brothers has acquired Harvest Hill Beverage Company for $1.4 billion. This corporate acquisition involves Castillo Brothers taking ownership of Harvest Hill, one of the nation’s largest independent branded beverage producers. Harvest Hill boasts consistent annual revenue growth and sales exceeding $1 billion.
Harvest Hill was formed in June 2014 and expanded through subsequent acquisitions, consolidating its operations in May 2017. The company manufactures, markets, and distributes a diverse portfolio of iconic brands, including Juicy Juice, SunnyD, Veryfine, Fruit2O, Little HUG, Daily’s Cocktails, and Nutrament. Its products reach consumers across multi-channels such as grocery, mass merchandisers, warehouse clubs, convenience stores, foodservice, and liquor distributors. Prior to this transaction, Harvest Hill was owned by private equity firm Brynwood Partners.
The strategic rationale for Castillo Brothers’ purchase of Harvest Hill centers on significantly expanding its footprint within the competitive beverage sector. By acquiring Harvest Hill, Castillo Brothers gains an established portfolio of well-known consumer brands and a robust nationwide network of manufacturing and distribution facilities. Expected synergies include leveraging Harvest Hill's operational expertise and brand equity to achieve greater market penetration and capitalize on cross-channel distribution opportunities.
This acquisition clearly marks a strategic move for Castillo Brothers to integrate a proven, revenue-generating entity into its operations. The combined organization is poised to create a more diversified and scaled platform within the North American beverage market, aiming for sustained growth and innovation across a broader range of product categories and distribution channels.
