SOCOTEC Italia has acquired Greenwich Srl for an undisclosed amount, marking a significant consolidation in the Italian sustainability consulting sector. Greenwich, based in Medolago and Milan, is a well-established Italian leader in sustainability and innovation consulting, specializing in environmental certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, and WELL.
Greenwich provides a comprehensive suite of services, including environmental controls for plastic packaging waste recovery platforms, detailed Environmental and Safety Due Diligence, and strategic environmental communication. With a team of 50 engineers, architects, environmental scientists, and analysts, Greenwich has played a pivotal role in the sustainability certification processes for over 120 prestigious projects across Italy, including key developments in Porta Nuova and CityLife in Milan, as well as the new BNL headquarters in Rome Tiburtina. Their clientele includes property and real estate investors, project management firms, construction companies, and architectural and engineering studios.
This acquisition is strategically important for SOCOTEC Italia, a prominent player in the technical testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) sector. It significantly enhances SOCOTEC Italia's service portfolio by integrating Greenwich’s deep expertise in green building certifications, ESG consulting, and environmental compliance. The move is expected to strengthen SOCOTEC Italia’s presence in a rapidly expanding market driven by increased demand for sustainable practices and regulatory requirements.
The synergy between the two entities will allow for an expanded and more integrated offering to clients, covering a broader spectrum of sustainability and environmental challenges. Greenwich's established reputation and specialized team, combined with SOCOTEC Italia’s wider infrastructure, are poised to create a more comprehensive and robust consulting powerhouse. The combined entity is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the real estate, industrial, and corporate sectors in their pursuit of environmental leadership and sustainable development.
