This corporate acquisition sees The Compleat Food Group purchasing Greencore, significantly expanding its presence in the competitive UK food sector. Greencore, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, is known for its extensive product range and robust operational capabilities across the United Kingdom.
Greencore operates 16 manufacturing sites and 17 distribution centres in the UK, facilitating over 10,500 direct to store deliveries daily. The company supplies all major UK supermarkets, alongside convenience and travel retail outlets, discounters, coffee shops, and foodservice providers. Its strong market positions span categories including sandwiches, salads, sushi, chilled snacking, chilled ready meals, chilled soups and sauces, chilled quiche, ambient sauces and pickles, and frozen Yorkshire Puddings. In FY24, Greencore manufactured 748 million sandwiches and other food to go products, 125 million chilled prepared meals, and 232 million bottles of cooking sauces, pickles, and condiments, generating revenues of £1.8 billion and employing 13,300 people.
