Grupo México (GMEX) Acquires GMXT, Expanding Mexico's Rail Network

Grupo México (GMEX) has acquired GMXT, a prominent Mexican freight railway operator, for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition marks a significant strategic expansion for GMEX into the vital logistics and transportation sector. GMXT is recognized for operating Mexico's largest railway network, an extensive system spanning over 10,000 kilometers of tracks. This network effectively covers the country's main industrial and consumer zones, while also providing critical connectivity to eight ports and six border crossings, linking Mexico with international markets.

GMXT’s operations are fundamental to national commerce, facilitating the movement of goods for a wide array of industries, including agricultural, mining, energy, cement, chemical, automotive, industrial, and intermodal sectors.
