Captain Fresh has acquired FRIME, S.A.U., a leading European company in MSC tuna sales, for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition marks a significant expansion for Captain Fresh, integrating FRIME's established market presence and extensive operational capabilities into its portfolio.
FRIME, S.A.U., a family business with three generations of experience, is headquartered in Barcelona and chaired by Salvador Ramon. The company is recognized as the leading seller of MSC-certified tuna in Europe, processing 37,000 metric tons annually. In 2023, FRIME reported a turnover of €172 million and employs over 450 people across seven production plants, spanning 21,600 square meters. Over the past three years, FRIME invested €50 million to enhance its infrastructure, including inaugurating two new production plants and expanding its productive surface by an additional 18,640 square meters to serve its more than 2,000 customers. The company is also a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, committing to sustainability and ethical principles.
The acquisition is strategically aimed at leveraging FRIME's robust European market leadership, advanced processing infrastructure, and strong commitment to sustainable practices. Captain Fresh gains access to FRIME's significant production capacity, established supply chains, and a broad customer base across Europe.
