GRM Information Management Services has acquired fileVAULT Ltd for an undisclosed amount. The deal brings the UK-based records storage specialist under the ownership of the US-headquartered information management firm, which operates across North America and Europe. fileVAULT will continue to serve its existing client base from its current UK facilities, with its team remaining in place.
fileVAULT, established in 2003, provides secure offsite storage for business documents, including archive boxes, original wills and deeds, and digital media. Its services also cover document scanning, secure destruction and shredding, indexing, and records management consultancy. GRM Information Management Services offers similar capabilities on a larger scale, including physical and digital storage, retrieval, and lifecycle management for corporate clients across multiple sectors.
The acquisition is strategic for GRM as it expands its direct footprint in the UK market, where fileVAULT has built a client list of organisations large and small. For fileVAULT, joining GRM provides access to a broader service platform and greater operational resources, which could support growth in its existing offerings without requiring a change in day-to-day operations. The deal also removes a regional competitor from the market, consolidating GRM’s position in the European records management space.
Both companies focus on the secure handling of physical and digital records, so the integration is expected to be straightforward. GRM can now offer UK clients a wider range of compliance-driven services, while fileVAULT’s local expertise and delivery network complement GRM’s existing infrastructure. No changes to client contracts or service levels have been announced.
The combined entity will operate with a larger geographic reach and a more comprehensive service catalogue, positioning it to compete for larger contracts in the UK and beyond. The transaction is closed, and both firms have indicated that integration work will proceed in the coming months.
