I Squared Capital, a global infrastructure investment manager, has acquired ENTEK Manufacturing LLC for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition signifies a major strategic move, transferring ownership of the advanced materials and manufacturing company to I Squared Capital. ENTEK is widely recognized for its expertise in battery separator technology and extruder manufacturing, supplying its products and engineering services across six continents.
ENTEK Manufacturing LLC is a key player in the energy storage sector, designing and producing lead-acid, lithium-ion, and Absorptive Glass Mat (AGM) battery separators. These critical components serve diverse applications, including automotive (SLI, start-stop, EFB), deep cycle, motive power, stationary batteries, and advanced lithium solutions for consumer electronics. Beyond energy storage, ENTEK also engineers and manufactures twin-screw extruders, replacement wear parts, and material handling systems, leveraging nearly 40 years of in-house engineering, machining, and fabrication resources.
The acquisition is strategically aligned with I Squared Capital's focus on essential infrastructure and the accelerating energy transition. By bringing ENTEK into its portfolio, I Squared Capital aims to strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding market for advanced materials and energy storage solutions. ENTEK’s established global presence and proven manufacturing capabilities present a foundation for continued growth and market penetration under new ownership.
This transaction is expected to generate synergies by combining I Squared Capital's investment expertise with ENTEK’s technological innovation and production capabilities. The combined entity is well-positioned to meet the escalating global demand for high-performance battery components and specialized manufacturing equipment. This strategic partnership enhances capabilities within critical supply chains, fostering further development and expansion in key industrial and energy markets worldwide.
