The acquisition, confirmed by a definitive agreement and marked by a formal ceremony at the Ministry of Investment, sees a global professional services leader buying a specialist consultancy focused on education and skills development. Emkan Education is noted as the largest specialist education consultancy in the region, renowned for its expertise in upskilling talent across industries.
Emkan Education provides education advisory services to private and public institutions, supporting school operators, educators, and investors in establishing and developing new schools, building capabilities, and offering training services. The company also specializes in developing curriculum and customized educational content. PwC, a global professional services network with over 370,000 people across 149 countries, offers assurance, advisory, and tax services. PwC Middle East has a significant and leading education practice that supports regional education transformation efforts, defining national strategies through to their execution.
This acquisition is a strategic move to further invest in the Middle East's education and skills transformation, particularly in Saudi Arabia. It aims to unite two prominent education practices in the region, strengthening PwC's capabilities. The integration aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 goals for developing the education sector, enhancing national talent, and enabling workforce development and innovation as the Kingdom diversifies its economy. PwC Middle East plans to welcome Emkan Education's three Saudi partners, Dr Mounira Jamjoom, Sara Zaini, and Basma Bushnak, into its Government and Public Sector practice.
