UBM Group has acquired ELVIZ AE for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition marks a significant development for ELVIZ AE, a long-standing Greek animal feed producer. Founded in 1963 and commencing manufacturing in 1969, ELVIZ AE operates two plants in Platy Imathias and Petrohori Xanthi. The company is known for offering balanced and healthy feed products designed to enhance animal productivity and improve the quality and cost-efficiency of husbandry products for Greek breeders. Its quality standards are guaranteed by the ISO 22000 application system. ELVIZ AE previously belonged to ATE Bank until 2011, with 99.9% of its shares acquired by the EUROFARM SA group in February 2012, continuing to operate as an independent legal entity.
The strategic rationale behind UBM Group's acquisition centers on leveraging ELVIZ AE's established market presence and its reputation for high-quality products within the Greek animal feed sector. ELVIZ AE benefits from its association with EUROFARM SA, a group pioneering primary production and vertical integration in animal husbandry. This includes the contractual cultivation of wheat, corn, and non-genetically modified soybeans in Macedonia and Thrace, supported by EUROFARM SA agronomists. ELVIZ AE's products are assured by certified raw materials, adhering to high-quality protocols for integrated management and additional certification for being free from genetically modified organisms and dangerous aflatoxins.
This acquisition is expected to create synergies by combining UBM Group's resources with ELVIZ AE's specialized production capabilities and its robust supply chain, which includes access to certified, non-GMO raw materials. The integration aims to strengthen the combined entity's position in the Greek agricultural and animal husbandry markets. The unified operation is poised to continue supporting Greek farmers with high-quality, healthy feed solutions, contributing to the efficiency of animal production and the broader rural economy.
