Contango ORE has acquired Dolly Varden Silver Corp. for $812,000,000, a move that consolidates significant precious metals assets. This transaction represents a direct corporate purchase, not a funding round, where Contango ORE has bought Dolly Varden Silver Corp. to expand its resource portfolio.
Dolly Varden Silver Corp. is a mineral exploration company primarily focused on its 100% held Kitsault Valley Project, located in the southern tip of British Columbia's prolific Golden Triangle. This extensive 770 sq. km project hosts high-grade silver and gold resources, including the Dolly Varden and Homestake Ridge deposits, alongside the past-producing Dolly Varden and Torbrit silver mines. The project is strategically positioned on structural and stratigraphic belts known for other high-grade deposits and also contains the Big Bulk property, which is prospective for porphyry and skarn style copper and gold mineralization.
The acquisition is a strategic maneuver by Contango ORE to enhance its footprint in a key North American mining region and diversify its asset base. Dolly Varden's Kitsault Valley Project, which evolved to include a 50/50 silver and gold resource measured by value following its prior acquisition of the Homestake Ridge project, offers Contango ORE a diversified precious and base metals exploration and development opportunity. Expected synergies include operational efficiencies, shared technical expertise, and an expanded resource pipeline.
Through this acquisition, the combined entity is positioned to leverage Dolly Varden’s established high-grade precious metal deposits and robust exploration potential. The integration is anticipated to create a more substantial and diversified exploration and development company, aiming for accelerated advancement of its expanded portfolio in the precious metals sector.
