Hinge Health has acquired Dieta Health for $105.0 million, a cash-and-stock transaction that adds a digestive health platform to its existing portfolio of musculoskeletal care solutions. The deal, which closed earlier this week, brings Dieta Health’s technology for improving gut health through data analysis and machine learning under Hinge Health’s operational umbrella.
Dieta Health builds software that tracks dietary intake, symptoms, and biometric data to generate personalized nutritional guidance for individuals with chronic digestive conditions. Its platform uses algorithmic models to identify patterns between food choices and gastrointestinal responses, offering users a data-driven approach to managing conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux. Hinge Health, by contrast, is known for its digital clinics that treat back, joint, and muscle pain through sensor-guided exercise therapy and behavioral health support.
The acquisition is strategic for Hinge Health because it broadens the company’s reach beyond musculoskeletal issues into a related but distinct area of chronic care. Digestive disorders affect a large portion of the adult population, and many patients also experience overlapping pain conditions, creating a natural crossover in user needs. By integrating Dieta Health’s capabilities, Hinge Health can offer a more comprehensive care pathway that addresses both physical discomfort and gastrointestinal health within a single digital platform.
For Dieta Health, the transaction provides access to Hinge Health’s established distribution channels, which include employer-sponsored health plans and health system partnerships. The smaller company’s technology will be folded into Hinge Health’s existing app, allowing users to track digestive symptoms alongside their exercise and pain management routines. Hinge Health has stated that Dieta Health’s team will remain intact and operate as a dedicated unit within the larger organization.
The combined entity will now serve a broader spectrum of chronic conditions, with the potential to cross-sell digestive health tools to Hinge Health’s existing user base while introducing musculoskeletal care to Dieta Health’s clinical partners. The integration is expected to proceed over the next two quarters, with initial product updates slated for release in the second half of the year.
