Pindstrup Group has acquired Compaqpeat for an undisclosed amount, marking a significant corporate transaction in the horticulture sector. This acquisition involves one company buying another outright, rather than a funding round.
Compaqpeat, a German capital company with headquarters in Latvia, specializes in the production of high-quality substrates for the professional horticulture industry. For over 20 years, the company has focused on managing its own peat fields and increasing the use of alternative raw materials such as wood fiber and perlite. It supplies customers in almost 70 countries worldwide with standard and special substrates, potting soils, and raw materials under its "Made in Latvia" brand, emphasizing quality, transparency, and crop safety.
This strategic acquisition is expected to bolster Pindstrup Group's presence and capabilities in the global horticulture market. Compaqpeat’s dedicated focus on sustainable raw material management and its extensive international customer base complement Pindstrup’s operational scope. The integration aims to leverage Compaqpeat’s production expertise and diversified raw material portfolio, including EcoFibri®, to enhance the acquiring company's product offerings and supply chain resilience.
The combination of Pindstrup Group and Compaqpeat is poised to create a stronger entity in the professional horticulture industry. The expected synergies include expanded market reach, a more comprehensive product line, and increased capacity for innovation in sustainable growing media. This consolidation will allow the combined business to more effectively address the evolving demands of commercial horticulture globally, offering advanced substrate solutions to a broader customer base.
