Spero Health has acquired CleanSlate Centers for an undisclosed amount. This strategic move brings together two significant providers in the addiction treatment sector. Spero Health, a leading value-based healthcare provider specializing in comprehensive addiction treatment services, will integrate CleanSlate's extensive network and specialized programs into its operations.
CleanSlate Centers is a national leader in outpatient addiction medicine, renowned for its medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorders, complemented by comprehensive behavioral healthcare. Guided by principles of compassion and harm reduction, CleanSlate also offers specialized services such as Hep C screening and treatment, OUD pregnancy care, and fentanyl withdrawal management. Last year, CleanSlate assisted over 35,000 individuals across more than 70 centers nationwide, achieving a 90% success rate of negative tests for illicit opioids among patients completing 12 weeks of care.
The acquisition is strategically significant for Spero Health, substantially expanding its geographic reach and enhancing its clinical capabilities. By purchasing CleanSlate, Spero Health gains access to a broader patient base and a proven model for delivering high-quality, outcomes-driven addiction care. This integration is expected to strengthen Spero Health's position as a comprehensive provider in the rapidly evolving landscape of addiction treatment.
Expected synergies include leveraging CleanSlate's specialized programs and clinical expertise across a wider network, improving access to integrated care for more individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The combined entity aims to optimize operational efficiencies and share best practices to deliver more effective and accessible treatment options. This consolidation will allow for a more unified approach to addressing the national addiction crisis.
Looking ahead, the combined Spero Health and CleanSlate Centers will form a more robust and expansive platform dedicated to long-term recovery. The integration is poised to enhance patient outcomes through expanded service offerings and a broader geographic footprint, reinforcing their shared commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care.
