BECHEM, a global leader in specialty lubricants and Germany's oldest specialty lubricant manufacturer, has acquired CLC Lubricants Company, a Geneva, Illinois-based producer of industrial lubricants and metalworking fluids, for an undisclosed amount. CLC Lubricants, a 48-year family-owned business, serves a diversified industry including machine shops, screw machine shops, fastener manufacturers, injection molders, extruders, drawing and stamping plants, EDM facilities, heat treaters, and also industries such as food production and construction.
This acquisition marks a significant strategic move for BECHEM, establishing its first manufacturing site in the United States. The integration provides BECHEM with a crucial U.S. production facility and direct access to CLC's established domestic customer base and distribution network across various manufacturing sectors. For CLC Lubricants, the transaction offers the opportunity to leverage BECHEM's extensive global expertise, advanced technologies, and robust research and development capabilities, built over more than 190 years in the specialty lubricant industry.
The combined entity plans to maintain the CLC brand and its existing product portfolio, ensuring continuity for current customers. All CLC employees are expected to remain with the company, continuing to provide customer service and support. Over time, the integration will allow for the introduction of new specialty products, bringing BECHEM's innovative solutions to CLC's clientele.
