Agno Pharma has acquired Actylis, formerly known as Cascade Chemistry, for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition sees Agno Pharma taking ownership of Actylis, a leading manufacturer and supplier of critical raw materials and performance ingredients. The transaction marks a significant expansion for Agno Pharma into specialized chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities.
Actylis was formed through the integration of eight specialty manufacturing companies and three sourcing firms. It serves the Life Sciences, Specialty Chemicals, and AgriScience industries. Its Eugene sites are particularly noted for their expertise in solving complex synthetic problems for the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors, aiding clients in advancing new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) to clinical trials. Actylis offers extensive experience in synthetic route optimization, process development, and scale-up, alongside providing chemical samples of intermediates, impurities, degradants, and reference standards.
The acquired entity's capabilities include a broad range of synthetic expertise, encompassing alkaloids, heterocycles, steroids, terpenes, prostaglandins, phenylacetylenes, and chiral syntheses. Its facilities feature R&D labs, analytical labs, kilo labs with walk-in hoods and 50-100 liter reactors, and a GMP facility equipped for 5 kg batch size Phase 1-2 manufacturing. This comprehensive infrastructure and specialized knowledge are expected to significantly enhance Agno Pharma's operational footprint and service offerings.
This strategic acquisition is anticipated to create substantial synergies for Agno Pharma. By integrating Actylis's advanced manufacturing and development capabilities, Agno Pharma can strengthen its position in the supply chain for critical raw materials and performance ingredients. The move is expected to expand Agno Pharma's capacity for process development, scale-up, and GMP manufacturing, particularly for early-phase clinical trial materials.
The combined entity is poised to offer a more robust and integrated solution for pharmaceutical and chemical clients, leveraging Actylis's deep scientific expertise and manufacturing infrastructure under Agno Pharma's broader strategic direction. This acquisition aims to drive innovation and efficiency in the development and supply of essential chemical compounds.
