Its operations centralize around the exploration and development of the Serowe Gas Project, a coal bed methane (CBM) initiative, alongside cultivating solar energy opportunities within the country.
Botala Energy has positioned itself as a key player in Botswana’s emerging CBM industry, advancing its Serowe CBM Project from an exploration asset to a commercially viable and development-ready venture. This progression includes achieving significant milestones such as resource certification, obtaining a mining licence, and securing environmental approvals. The company is also working towards becoming a zero net carbon emissions entity, developing hybrid energy projects. Notably, Botala Energy recently secured a binding letter of intent for an LNG offtake agreement with SCAW South Africa Proprietary Limited, underscoring its readiness to address Southern Africa's impending "Gas Cliff" in 2028.
