Mission Clean Energy has acquired Bluebird Solar, an India-based solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer, for an undisclosed amount. This corporate acquisition signals a strategic move by Mission Clean Energy to expand its footprint and capabilities within the rapidly growing renewable energy sector, specifically targeting solar energy production and related solutions.
Bluebird Solar, a division of the Bluebird Group established in 1979, brings a rich history in power electronics and sustainable energy. The acquired entity is a fast-growing solar PV module manufacturer and exporter, operating a state-of-the-art, fully automatic manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Its current production capacity of 40MW is slated for expansion to 80MW by the end of the current financial year. Bluebird Solar’s product range includes high-efficiency solar modules (40Wp to 330Wp) with certifications like IEC, UL, CE, MNRE, BIS, and ALMM, alongside solar hybrid inverters and LED lighting solutions, underpinned by strong quality accreditations such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and RoHS.
The acquisition is strategically significant for Mission Clean Energy, providing immediate access to established manufacturing infrastructure and a diversified portfolio of solar products. This move allows for vertical integration, securing a critical supply chain component, and potentially enhancing cost efficiencies in project development and execution. Synergies are expected through the combination of Mission Clean Energy's broader clean energy initiatives and Bluebird Solar's proven manufacturing prowess and market presence, especially within the Indian market. The integration aims to leverage Bluebird's reputable brand and extensive network.
Looking ahead, the combined entity is poised to strengthen its competitive position in the global and domestic renewable energy landscape. This integration is expected to accelerate the development and deployment of comprehensive clean energy solutions, further contributing to the transition towards a sustainable energy future.
