Atlas Health Capital

Atlas Health Capital has acquired BC Partners for an undisclosed amount. The transaction transfers ownership of the international investment firm to Atlas Health Capital, which will assume control of BC Partners’ existing operations and investment strategies.

BC Partners, founded in 1986 as one of the first pan-European buy-out investors, operates as an alternative investment firm with offices in London, Paris, Hamburg, and New York. It focuses on businesses in Europe and North America, offering a Credit Investment platform that targets yield and opportunistic opportunities primarily in North America. The firm applies a consistent investment approach across its strategies, using rigorous analysis to seek downside protection and identify value-add opportunities. Atlas Health Capital, the acquiring entity, is now positioned to integrate these operations into its broader portfolio.

The acquisition is strategic for Atlas Health Capital, as it gains access to BC Partners’ established network and its complementary investment strategies. BC Partners’ partnership structure, designed to align the firm’s interests with those of its investors, will be retained under the new ownership. This move allows Atlas Health Capital to expand its footprint in the alternative investment sector, particularly in the credit and buy-out markets where BC Partners has a track record.

For BC Partners, the acquisition provides a new parent company with the resources to support its ongoing activities. The firm’s existing investment teams and office locations are expected to remain operational, ensuring continuity for its portfolio companies and limited partners. The deal does not alter BC Partners’ core mandate or its focus on European and North American markets.

The combined entity will operate with Atlas Health Capital overseeing BC Partners’ strategies, with no immediate changes to the latter’s day-to-day management. The transaction is expected to close following customary regulatory approvals, after which the integration process will begin.
