DigitalBridge has acquired ArcLight Capital Partners for an undisclosed amount. ArcLight, a prominent infrastructure investor established in 2001, specializes in critical electrification infrastructure. This acquisition marks a significant expansion for DigitalBridge into the energy and utility infrastructure investment sector.

ArcLight brings a substantial portfolio and deep expertise, having owned, controlled, or operated approximately 65 GW of assets and 47,000 miles of electric and gas transmission and storage infrastructure, representing $80 billion of enterprise value. Its investment focus spans power, hydro, solar, wind, battery storage, electric transmission, and natural gas transmission and storage. The firm is known for its operationally intensive investment approach, supported by dedicated in-house strategic, technical, operational, and commercial specialists, alongside a 1,900-person asset management partner.

The strategic rationale behind this acquisition centers on leveraging ArcLight's proven track record and specialized capabilities to address the growing global demand for reliable, secure, and sustainable power infrastructure. By integrating ArcLight's extensive experience in critical electrification assets, DigitalBridge aims to enhance its investment platform and broaden its reach within essential infrastructure markets. This move is expected to create synergies by combining DigitalBridge's existing strengths with ArcLight's deep sector knowledge and operational expertise.

The combination is poised to capitalize on ArcLight's long history of value-added investing across diverse energy infrastructure sectors. DigitalBridge will benefit from ArcLight's established team and its robust asset management framework, which has consistently delivered on projects supporting the evolving needs of the power grid. This integration is designed to strengthen the combined entity's ability to identify, develop, and manage complex infrastructure investments.

Looking ahead, the combined entity is expected to be a formidable player in the infrastructure investment landscape, well-positioned to drive innovation and investment in the critical infrastructure required for future energy demands and sustainability goals.
