Wireless Logic has acquired Algar Telecom, a Brazilian telecommunications and IT group, for an undisclosed amount. The deal transfers ownership of Algar Telecom’s connectivity and IoT-related operations to Wireless Logic, a UK-based provider of managed IoT connectivity solutions. Algar Telecom will continue to operate its broader telecom and IT services under its existing brand, but its IoT and machine-to-machine (M2M) business now falls under Wireless Logic’s global network.

Algar Telecom, part of the Algar Group, has operated for over 68 years in the telecom and IT sectors, maintaining a close client relationship and delivering high-quality services across 16 Brazilian states. The company owns more than 110,000 kilometers of optical fiber network and offers free specialized advisory services in telecom, cybersecurity, and energy efficiency. Wireless Logic, by contrast, specializes in providing secure, scalable IoT connectivity platforms for enterprises and device manufacturers, with a strong presence in Europe and expanding global reach.

The acquisition is strategic for Wireless Logic as it gains direct access to Algar Telecom’s established infrastructure and regional expertise in Brazil, a key growth market for IoT deployments. For Algar Telecom, the sale of its IoT arm allows the company to focus on its core telecom and IT offerings while leveraging Wireless Logic’s international platform to serve existing clients with enhanced global connectivity options. The deal also aligns with Wireless Logic’s broader expansion into Latin America, where demand for managed connectivity solutions is rising.

The combined entity is expected to integrate Algar Telecom’s local network assets with Wireless Logic’s cloud-based management tools, enabling seamless cross-border IoT services for multinational customers. No financial terms were disclosed, and the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals. Both companies have indicated that existing client contracts and service levels will remain unchanged during the transition. The acquisition is set to close in the coming months, after which Wireless Logic will begin onboarding Algar Telecom’s IoT client base onto its global platform.
