Heimark Distributing, LLC has acquired Alford Distributing, a licensed beer and beverage distributor serving California’s Imperial County since 1952. The transaction was completed for an undisclosed amount, and the deal transfers ownership of Alford’s operations and distribution rights to Heimark.
Alford Distributing has been a regional mainstay for over seven decades, supplying retail and hospitality accounts across Imperial County with a portfolio of domestic and imported beers. Heimark Distributing, LLC operates as a wholesale beverage distributor with a broader footprint in the state, focusing on efficient logistics and supplier relationships. The acquisition brings Alford’s established local market presence under Heimark’s management structure.
For Heimark, the purchase expands its geographic reach into a border region with distinct consumer preferences and logistical demands. Alford’s long-standing relationships with local retailers and its familiarity with Imperial County’s regulatory environment offer a ready-made entry point. The deal also allows Heimark to consolidate back-office functions and route planning, potentially lowering per-case delivery costs across the combined territory.
For Alford’s existing customers, the change in ownership is expected to be seamless in the near term, as Heimark plans to retain the local workforce and continue servicing existing accounts under the same distribution agreements. The acquisition does not include any new product lines or immediate changes to the brands carried, according to the terms disclosed.
The combined entity will operate with a larger service area, pairing Alford’s regional expertise with Heimark’s operational scale. The focus now shifts to integrating delivery schedules and inventory systems, with the goal of maintaining service continuity while gradually optimizing the network.
