RESPEC has acquired Albertson Engineering for an undisclosed amount, integrating the full-service structural engineering firm into its operations. This transaction represents a corporate acquisition where RESPEC has bought Albertson Engineering, not a funding round for either company. Albertson Engineering, established in 1999, is recognized for providing comprehensive structural design services for structures of all types and sizes.
Albertson Engineering operates from its offices in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Winner, South Dakota, along with Cheyenne, Wyoming, managing projects across the Midwest and in 17 states. Its service portfolio includes new structure design, building additions and renovations, specialty structural engineering, and investigative engineering. The firm serves a wide client base, including municipalities, architects, contractors, home builders, home owners, and state and federal agencies, and has received awards for notable projects like the Arc of Dreams and the Dignity of Earth & Sky sculpture.
This acquisition holds strategic importance for RESPEC, as it significantly enhances its engineering capabilities and expands its geographic footprint. The integration of Albertson Engineering's established expertise, award-winning project history, and strong client relationships will complement RESPEC's existing service offerings. The addition of Albertson’s team, comprising licensed professional engineers and support staff, further strengthens RESPEC's capacity to deliver comprehensive engineering solutions.
The expected synergies from this combination include a broader market reach and an expanded service scope, particularly within structural design and analysis. By uniting their resources, the combined entity aims to offer a more robust and diverse array of engineering services to a wider range of clients across an extended operational area, thereby solidifying its standing in the engineering consulting sector.
