Montage Gold has acquired African Gold for $170,000,000, bringing together two entities in the gold exploration and development sector. The transaction significantly consolidates gold assets in central Côte d'Ivoire, particularly highlighting African Gold's Didievi Project.
African Gold has been focused on the exploration and development of its Didievi Project, located in central Côte d'Ivoire. The company announced a promising high-grade Maiden Inferred Resource in 2024 at the Blaffo Guetto prospect within Didievi, totaling 4.93 Mt at 2.9 g/t gold for 452,000 ounces. Recent exceptional drilling results from the project, reported on October 15, 2024, included 65.0 meters at 5.6 g/t gold from a depth of 177 meters, underscoring the project's potential.
This acquisition is strategic for Montage Gold, enabling the company to expand its resource base and operational footprint within a key West African gold region. The integration of African Gold's Didievi Project is expected to provide significant synergies, including the consolidation of geological data, optimization of development plans, and potential for shared infrastructure. The high-grade nature of the Didievi resource is anticipated to complement Montage Gold's existing portfolio, strengthening its overall asset quality and future production profile.
The combination aims to accelerate the development of the Didievi Project and leverage Montage Gold's experience to unlock further value from the expanded asset base. The combined entity is positioned for enhanced operational efficiencies and a more robust pipeline of development opportunities in Côte d'Ivoire's gold sector.
