Thoma Bravo has acquired Accelerant for $4.0 billion in an all-cash transaction. The deal, which has been approved by Accelerant’s board of directors, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Accelerant provides AI-driven data and document intelligence software, helping businesses automate workflows in supply chain, finance, and service operations. Its flagship product, InfoMiner, extracts and structures information from unstructured documents, enabling faster decision-making and cleaner customer experiences. The company operates on a software-as-a-service model, offering a 15-day trial of its platform. Thoma Bravo, a private equity firm focused on software and technology investments, will take Accelerant private upon completion of the deal.

The acquisition is driven by Thoma Bravo’s focus on consolidating high-growth, niche software providers that address operational inefficiencies. Accelerant’s document intelligence capabilities complement Thoma Bravo’s existing portfolio of enterprise automation and data management companies. For Accelerant, the deal provides access to Thoma Bravo’s operational resources and deep expertise in scaling software businesses, which could accelerate product development and expand its market reach beyond its current customer base.

Post-acquisition, Accelerant will operate as a standalone unit within Thoma Bravo’s portfolio, retaining its brand and leadership team. The combined entity is positioned to cross-sell InfoMiner to Thoma Bravo’s broader network of enterprise clients, while Accelerant’s technology could be integrated into other portfolio companies’ offerings. The transaction also gives Accelerant financial stability to invest in R&D without the pressures of quarterly public reporting.

The completion of the deal will mark the end of Accelerant’s independent operations, but the company’s software is expected to remain available to existing customers under the same terms. Thoma Bravo has indicated it will support Accelerant’s current product roadmap, including enhancements to its AI capabilities. The broader market for intelligent document processing is projected to grow steadily, and this acquisition places the combined entity in a position to capture a larger share of that demand.
